When the one who dies is an ex-partner, your subconscious is most often depicting the death of the relationship's emotional hold, the ending of an attachment or a version of yourself that the relationship shaped.

Scripture frames death as the gateway to new life rather than mere finality. John 12:24 teaches that unless a grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains alone, but if it dies it bears much fruit.
